Panama Metro opens international prequalification for cable car project

Panama Metro, S.A. has announced an international prequalification for companies interested in the administrative concession of a cable car system in Panama City and San Miguelito. This project includes the financing, studies, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of a 6.6-kilometer cable car with six stations, connecting to Metro Lines 1 and 2 to enhance mobility in hard-to-reach areas.

Key dates for interested companies:

• January 8, 2025: Site visit.

• January 13, 2025: Virtual meeting for inquiries and clarifications.

• February 13, 2025: Submission and opening of expressions of interest.

The public tender is expected to proceed in 2025.
