On 9 July the European Commission removed Panama from its list of jurisdictions with strategic deficiencies in the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing. The decision recognises the effective implementation and supervision of the rules adopted since 2019, as well as the tangible results demonstrated in technical evaluations.
The delisting improves Panama’s risk perception among European banks and investors, reduces the enhanced monitoring previously applied to transactions involving the country, and broadens access to financing and commercial alliances.
At CLD Legal, we assist clients in structuring operations that meet international compliance standards and benefit from Panama’s improved global standing.
